Frill power baby.
Summer is here (even if it is just for the weekend). Time to showcase all that is girly!
Here come the girls.
for the love of boho…lets talk fashion
This one is definitely for those of you in a warmer location; or who still have a summer vacation planned; or *fingers crossed* if England manages to get another burst of energetic sun (early preparation is vital – wax technician on speed dial)!
Knitting is often associated as a very uncool skill but the trend on the catwalk and celebs gives a very opposite effect. Jessica Biel, Rihanna and the Kardashians are just a few of those who were quick of mark.
Some inspiring pictures.
We are quickly moving into fall looks which isn’t a bad thing considering london skipped the whole “summer” thing anyway!
I have taken note of the high end stars clearly showing off a masculine feminine approach for fall whether it takes into account leather, print or military inspiration.
Here’s a heads up of the key masculine looks that I feel will lead in the pack.
Just a quick one – how do feel about girls in masculine clothing and or shoes?
Personally I am a fan as long as you don’t look over swamped or like a clown. Its a great way to be unique from every other girl out there and if you have access to a trendy guy (be it brother, BF or BBF) it might even be free! God knows my male counterparts have lost a good few vests and jogging bottoms…
Anyway here’s a few that I feel are currently pulling off the trend superbly! Christina in particular is wearing a fresh pair of mens Gucci sneakers. So the next time your shopping with your guy/friend, keep your eyes peeled for pieces you can werk.
This weeks look is dedicated to tribal influences. I have seen a lot of African and strong cultural influences this year.
For stronger prints I would normally go straight to the source, buy a nice fabric and visit a favoured seamstress (its the only way to guarantee complete uniqueness) but for more tribal/aztec prints this season.
River Island has my vote (please have a look at the website!). It terms of celebs wearing this well, I would have to give it to the Kardashian sisters who have got my attention with their strong themes that (dare I say) don’t look to bad?!?
Anyway on the catwalk for this trend I am in love with Donna Karen who also do a mean safari every season and Holly Fulton who has always been top of print queen list!
Okay so national pj day is April 18 apparently and some of the resort collections have evidently been looking forward to the event.
Urm…. I see it but I will let this trend slide *agog*
It does give a different silhouette to the female pant suit and the lighter choice of fabric make it better for the spring/summer months although shown with slippers on the. Spreads, I would stick to simple heels.
Anyway here’s the best of the best on certain celebs –
Rihanna; top of the class
Salma Hayek; she travelled in it so hell yeah!
Rachel Roy; no, not really. Sorry.
This weeks look of the week is about the easy going short suit. Depending on the length and style of the shorts and nature of work you may be able to make this work 9-5 and then out for drinks. Personally I could not get away with this for work but would defo do it for a warm date night or drinks with the girls!
Although this look can work with flats. Heels will give the illusion of longer and more toned legs (if they aren’t already) with skin toned heels making legs look even longer if shorter than most.
I pray english weather picks up any time this century 😦
Anyway here’s some picks of where to get the best and some celebs wearing the best!
Ps. Rochelle’s pictured suit and another recent Chanel inspired suit she’s been seen in are from Lipsy! Very nice.
